Guest Designer Entry for Artful Crafting - Challenge # 8 “Water coloring"

A Big Hello to My Craft Family,

First of all I would like to thank the DT that they gave me a chance as a guest designer to display my project.

Challenge # 8 is all about “Water coloring” - http://artful-crafting.com/wordpress/2015/11/challenge-8-water-coloring/. I have never used water colors in my craft projects before, so while I was working towards this project, I learnt a lot.

I decided to use Twinkling H2Os that I purchased from Artful Crafting. Initially my plan was totally about something else and I did tried but was not happy with the results.

After a few trials and errors, I finally had this Tag crafted. So my project are three tags, each rendered a different water color technique and placed together. This tag is inspired by the video by Sondra Dee Twinkling H2O Water Color Paint Techniques which I came across while "You Tubing" to learn proper water colouring techniques.

The craft hardware used is:

1.       Twinkling H2Os- Sunflower, Snap Dragon and Jengibre Melecoton
2.       Sizzix Tag Die
3.       Clear Embossing Powder – Rangers
4.       Starry Night Embossing Powder – Stampendous
5.       Vera Mark water mark ink pad
6.       Flutter stamps by lawn Fawn
7.       Handmade flowers, washi tape and ribbon

Now I would like to take my craft fellows about step by step approach for different techniques to use Twinkling H2Os.

1. The first approach is stamping. I stamped the image using Versa Mark water mark stamp pad and then heat embossed the image. Later I colored it on the inner side with Twinkling H2Os by simple paintbrush. Water brush pen can also be used.

2.  In the second approach I first heat embossed the images which were stamped using Versa Mark water mark stamp pad and clear embossing powder. Later I brushed the entire tag with Twinkling H2O. The area which has been covered by the clear embossing will not take up the color and will remain as such. While the place which uptake the color will be brilliantly colored.

3. The third technique is the easiest one; I just colored the tag with Twinkling H2O. Here I would like to tell you that Twinkling H2Os are the best thing to work woth when it comes to water coloring. They give you a very baeutiful and subtle shimer effect which we dont get with the use of the normal water colors.

4. The final step was to paste teh tags over one another.

"Hi" is the sentiment you can see used. I have used some washi tape, handmade flowers and ribbon for the finishing touches to the project.

I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do let me know of your views about it.

Thank you

Sobia
